The empty state did more than the tooltip tour
I stopped building coach marks and wrote one sentence in the empty project: bring a file, or start with the sample. Activation moved. It is the least glamorous screen in the app and the one I should have written first.

I am stealing the one-sentence version. My empty state currently congratulates them, which helps nobody.
Sample data needs an obvious way to delete it. Otherwise people think the product is already busy and they never start their own.

That has not happened before. The change was the empty state sentence, not a new step. I am not throwing a launch for it. I am leaving the sentence alone.

- How are you defining activation without fooling yourself?
I counted 'created a project' and the number looked healthy. Most of those projects were empty the next day. I need a definition that is allowed to be disappointing.
