The first cancellation felt personal and it was not
They wrote a fair note. Their team stopped doing the weekly review that made the product necessary. I spent a day rereading it as a verdict on the interface.

One change, then stop. Address "They wrote a fair note" and leave the rest of the product alone for a week.
Respectfully, "Their team stopped doing the weekly review that made the product necessary" is an observation, not yet a decision. What number would make you reverse it?
The sting is normal. Acting on it the same afternoon is how I shipped a worse version of a screen that was not the problem.
One cancel is a story. Three with the same last screen are a product issue. I try not to refactor from a single polite paragraph.

Cancellation notes say 'not using it enough.' That is true and not very helpful. The product works when they are in it. The habit is the part I have not earned.

- An annual customer cancelled in month two
They paid up front and still left. The note was polite. I refunded the unused months because the contract was something I wrote in a hurry and I did not want that to be the memory.

- I refunded a monthly plan without a speech
They did not get the export they needed and I am not building it this month. The refund was the honest product decision. I wrote two sentences and stopped.

- I spent three months building something nobody wanted
I am writing this down because I wish I had heard it plainer. I built the workflow I wanted, skipped customer calls, and launched to a quiet list. The product is not bad. It is just not urgent for anyone I can find.
